Once I was 6 months into my pregnancy I hit a wall, all of a sudden everything was harder, I was so exhausted that I was useless. My hubby James came into his own, he's always been easy going and happy to help but without any discussion he took over all the cooking, cleaning and anything else that I/we needed. He even put up with my crazy hormones - I once burst into tears because he made me new potatoes, apparently I didn't like them anymore hehehehe ooops!
From the moment I was pregnant he was smitten with our unborn children and once they arrived he stuck to us like glue. For the 2 days that we were in the hospital he was always the first daddy to arrive on the ward and the last to leave, he was with us each day from 9am-9pm (the allocated times that new daddy's were allowed to visit). He wouldn't even leave to go and get himself some food, luckily my mum would often bring him some. The nurses used to fuss over him and constantly commented on how hands on he was. When he was with us he did everything, feed them, change them, cuddle them - think it made the nurses life's easier, especially how I was unable to move on the first day due to my c-section.
Once we were home I could gradually do more and more around the house but he still did a lot. Even now if I've had one of those days, which can be quite often with twins, he will come home from work and automatically do housework without a single comment or complaint. When the subject comes up of my pregnancy, whether it's with family/strangers or friends, he always praises me by saying that I baked the boys so well and that's why everything turned out perfect for us. Even though he always piles the credit onto me I think the credit belongs to him. He made my life so easy while I was pregnant that all I had to do was rest, I never felt over worked and I strongly feel that this is why for the most part my pregnancy went well. Also since the boys have been here I have felt no pressure to be wonder woman - my main priority is to ensure the health and happiness of our boys, and if some days that means that I don't get as much done as I would like, well it simply doesn't matter - my wonderful hubby never judges me and always lets me know that he is my main supporter and that together we're an awesome team!
